Welcome to the official website of the Action Man Veterans Society. The AMVS aims to provide support and recognition for all those who fought in the numerous campaigns of the 1960’s, 70’s and early 80’s.
In recent years, the Original Action Men (OAM) have become the world’s forgotten heroes. No longer in active service, they have found themselves shamefully neglected and rejected. Forced to survive in hostile conditions with no support or care, they now live a life with little dignity and few prospects.
But the future need not be bleak. With your help, the AMVS can provide these unsung heroes with the opportunity to rediscover their self-respect, the ability to contribute once more and a voice so that their stories can finally be heard...
We have just received the harrowing tale of Peter Skellen (not his real name), an ex-SAS operative who survived a terrible battle with a small dog only to be betrayed by the woman he loved. His story and others can be found in our Casebook, where you will gain an insight into the lives of some original Action Men and the fates that befell them. You may discover a glimmer of hope in their stories, but more than likely...you’ll not.
If you’re looking for a long lost flock-haired friend, send us their details and we will post them on the Missing in Action noticeboard. If you recognise any of those featured, let us know — their Commanders are desperate to learn if their old troops are OK and, if possible, be reunited.
